El Salvador buys 150 more BTC
As you may know, UCoin is actively developing in the South American region, and we are closely monitoring the space for crypto-related news. A couple of days ago El Salvador made the headlines again! President Nayib Bukele has posted a tweet where he announced that the country had acquired another 150 BTC at an average price of $48,500.
Suffice to say that there was still a bit of miscalculation involved: within just an hour after the purchase, started at an average cost of $48,500 the price fell to values close to $42,000 and this will beyond doubt be remembered by the opponents of the ambitious president’s pro-crypto policy.
However, Bukele himself admitted that he was a bit hasty with the purchase. On Twitter, the head of El Salvador had a self-defeating laugh at the hastiness of his decision, realising that by delaying just a few minutes, the state could’ve made so much more profit.
However, a missed profit is not a loss, so there is not much to worry about here! In the long-term, just like El Salvador, we believe in Bitcoin and how digital assets can change the world, which is why we’re working to make it a reality!
